Growing up in New York I was very fortunate to have experienced the culture, foods and overall experience that is New York! But once you move away you know New York will always be home, and your experiences will doubly become different. Growing up in New York we went to the required spots everyone goes to like Rockefeller Center, Madison Square Garden, and the Empire State Building. I know like many of my peers we made many of the trips with school. But what is the best way to see New York? From a New Yorkers perspective of course! There is so much to see and do besides the required spots, but when you have kids you will want to maximize every area and have fun doing it!
The first place you need to check out is The American Museum of Natural History. Yeah, I loved this place to see especially as a kid! So much to see and learn. From a kids perspective with movies like Night at the Museum, it makes you wonder how exciting it is to learn about different cultures and see the dinosaurs! If you are looking to bring your kids to a place where they can see dinosaurs, undersea life and learn about different cultures bring them here will make them happy.
If you got kids who don’t like museums but love animals, then you need to go to the Central Park Zoo! Located in the southeast portion of the park you can easily get your kids to see live animals while exploring all Central Park has to offer! New York has the best places to see especially when the weather is great. If you have little ones, they have a children’s museum located where it brings a hands-on experience with potbelly pigs, cows, and goats.
If your family is a lover of the water and you want a downtown experience you should consider visiting the Intrepid Aircraft Carrier Museum. Any history buffs or those who love aircraft and vessels will love this place. There is nothing like seeing aircraft like jets that cross the Atlantic Ocean right in your face! Located by Pier 86 you can get some gorgeous views of downtown Manhattan from a different perspective!
Kids love the idea of seeing the city from a different viewpoint. Try taking them on a bus tour of the city. New York City is known for guided tours from seeing sites like Central Park Tours, Brooklyn Bridge any of those tours will have your kids looking up and around at such beautiful views.
New York is made up of so much culture, places to see and do. Kids will love all New York City has to offer. But not only will the kids love it you will too. The best way to see New York is to get a New York City Explorer Pass. This pass will help you get too many of the spots that I loved and cherished as a kid but always is a reasonable way to see New York without breaking the bank. Being able to see New York City this way will have you seeing it from a different angle like a New Yorker!
