It can be difficult to recall why we wish to work as freelancers in the first place when we are surrounded by the pressures of numerous converging deadlines and the never-ending hunt for new clients. It’s exceedingly easy for freelancers to get caught up in the daily grind of dealing with rude or harsh clients as well as the other minor frustrations.
In most cases, we tend to overlook the benefits of working as a freelancer and the self-worth it offers. However, worry less because, in this article, I intend to provide you with five significant reasons as to why you will find self-worth and excel as a freelance worker.
You become more valued.
By being a freelance worker, you excel and find self-worth because you don’t have cruel and harsh employers or directing every step you take while at work. In such a case, you have complete control of how your work gets to be completed. Your customers have a say in your final product, though that’s the extent of their influence; it’s totally up to you to get from point 1 to point 2, which is fantastic. Besides, you become more valued since you are no longer a member of the hive. Most significantly, through a well-crafted plan, you get to determine what that value is.
You get to earn more but spend less.
Working as a freelancer means that you can manage your salary by yourself. Better yet, extra expenditures such as travel expenses to work, gas expenses, and health insurance costs would reduce your income. Freelancers benefit 45% more on average than those working as full-time employers. Also, they can deduct some expenses in business that employers do not, enabling them to retain more of their earnings.
You are in control of your timetable/schedule.
Whether you prefer the consistency of a set schedule or a variety of hours that are progressively pliant, being your own boss, you have complete control over your own schedule. For example, if you do not like working during the morning hours, you can relax, keeping in mind that you won’t have to set three alarm clocks to make it to your morning meeting in time.
However, if you are a morning person, you can set your hours for the morning and complete the whole day’s work before getting your kids to school.
You have the liberty to choose your own clients.
When working as a freelance worker, you are essentially forced to represent or instead serve whoever shows up at your business place. This is such that if a customer happens to yell at you, it is simply because you did not pick the right client. The more significant part of being a freelance worker is that you, and not they, have the upper hand. You get to choose who to serve and support.
No more dressing in uniform.
As a freelance worker, you have the freedom to dress in whichever clothes you like, unlike being a traditional employee—in other words, working as a freelancer grants you the freedom to wear sneakers with jeans without worrying about adhering to the strict dress code.
The truth is that; freelancing is a fantastic way to live because it allows you to excel and even find your self-worth. Be grateful. If you ever forget why you wanted to freelance, consider what you were previously doing before choosing to be a freelance worker. Consider your clients, the high respect you gain, the more income you get, and the most horrendous dressing code.
