Disclaimer: “I participated in a movie review for Light Between Oceans. I received tickets to thank me for my participation of the review of Light Between Oceans. All opinions are my own.
In the Light Between Oceans, Post World War, veteran Tom Sherbourne (Michael Fassbender) finds work as a lighthouse keeper off the coast of Australia. He falls in love with Isabel (Alicia Vikander) where they eventually marry. Like many couples they are faced with challenges of miscarriages and grief. But as they move on passed their struggles of having a baby fate takes a twisted turn and a dingy washes up ashore with a baby inside. They raise the baby as their own to later find trouble associated with the secret they kept.
I love seeing books coming to the big screen especially a good love story. How about one where it brings love more than just of two souls but eventually three? The struggles faced by Tom and Isabel like any married couple would face. The common theme is love, lost and grief is the struggle we all in married life experience and I myself found to be in Isabel’s shoes with the lost of a child struggles with the realism in this film. I find that many people struggle with movies in this particular topic but we can all relate in some way. The characters of Tom and Isabel show that love can conquer any kind of dilemma and struggle to experience a good life and love together. I recommend taking someone close to you to see this. I feel it will change how you look in to your own struggles you deal with in your daily life.
So Tell Me? Who will you go with to see this movie?
