My daughter’s school participates in a program called “Book it” sponsored from Pizza Hut. I didn’t realize that Pizza Hut offered this type of reading program. But as my daughter received her recent “free pizza coupon” and during our visit there did I learn more about what this programs actually does. Since our move to Virginia one of the positives experiences she has had is by receiving the little bonus of a “free pizza coupons” when she completes a chart log that shows her monthly reading times. Coming from New York we were never offered these types of programs but since we have been here in Virginia she now became more of an avid reader.
Since its inception in 1984, Pizza Hut offers this program to bring awareness of literacy with offering incentives to increase reading. As a child I wish I had this type of program, and as an avid reader wished I had the same opportunities as my children to be able to participate. This year marks a special year for this program, with Book It celebrating their 30th birthday. With this milestone Book it/ Pizza Hut is offering those who participated in this encouraging program those who complete it will also be able to participate in the Book it giveaway. This not only will give them a chance for a “free pizza coupons” but if completed will get a chance to win a $30,000 college plan. These days’ money and savings towards a college education is important so any monies received goes a long way towards getting money for my child’s future higher education.
