Whistler is one of the unique places on earth. Thankfully, because of this, each of these three options becomes more special and unique. If you’re tired of vacations where you do the same thing, see the same people, and go back to your old life again: then it’s time to break that pattern. Instead, here are three exciting ideas to get your heart racing while you’re on vacation! Make sure that wherever you do, have fun with it and cut loose. Vacations are a time where you’re allowed to be goofy, splurge on your money, or be greedy: so let yourself do it.
Here’s how to let go.
Find Black Tusk
This view takes some planning, and some hiking, so it’s important that you pack a whole bag for yourself. The essentials for any ten-pound bag are one extra pair of socks, at least one plastic bag, and some snacks and water. If you have it available, thread or twine will also come in handy.
The hike is around 6km one way, making it a 12km round trip, but the view is worth it. Black tusk emerges from below the horizon line like a giant hooked black claw and settles in prettily against the horizon. This trek has become a write of passage for some, while others see it as simply a nice distraction while they’re shopping around for Whistler homes for sale.
The Peak to Peak Gondola
This ride is the number one spot for engagements in part. There’s nothing like weightlessly soaring thousands of feet in the air to help you learn the meaning of romance.
If you’re scared of heights, take your time. The trainers are there to help make sure that everyone is having fun and being safe. Many people are scared of heights as kids, and although the fear dissipates for some, it just seems to worsen.
The best way to keep yourself calm once you’re airborne is to focus on things that are either in your immediate presence or that are so far away that you have to strain your eyes to focus on them. Your brain will pay attention to that rather than the sensation of falling.
See Whistler From Above
Whistler is inch after inch of beautiful views, and what better way to view that exists than being airborne? We’re not talking about drones; although they’re exciting, why not consider taking a trip on the real thing? Helicopter tours are top-rated and give you the chance to float in over the mountains. From this angle, you can watch wildlife living freely, see the actual shape of the mountains, and admit the gorgeous trees and other natural beauty.
This can be expensive, as a special splurge, it’s more than worth it. How many people get to say they flew around a national park in a helicopter?
Although each of these can be fun and exciting, keep in mind your tire and exertion barriers and whether or not you can afford a big splurge of money.
